tea Raven's 15.7.1796. On 6.10.1803 (after Aldridge Raven's death) Godwin at Dalling noted "mrs Raven & Phillis at tea". On 4.5.1808 "dine at Mrs Raven's", and on 18.8.1809 at Ann Godwin's funeral "4 Ravens" and on 19.08.1809 "dine Raven's".
 

Godwin, Philip Hull

The Godwin Diary website editorial notes call him an older brother but he was in fact a younger brother. His birth date and those of his wife and children are given in his letter of 1829 (Abinger c.13 f74v). Philip Hull Godwin married Ann Dunnet Raven on 6.3.1793 at Themelthorpe, Norfolk.

Spilsbury, Thomas

Spilsbury 6.5.1792; 16.5.1792; and 20.6.1794 - this last a call by Godwin followed by his call on Dorset the next day.

Thomas Spilsbury printer of Snow Hill (see Cooper, John Robinson). He died 1795. See the will PCC 1800 of his son Thomas, whose brothers William and Charles continued the printing business until 1803, then Charles alone.

See John Robinson Cooper, from whose indenture this must be John Dorset, perhaps elder brother to banker George, who is mentioned by Charlotte Smith whose sister married their cousin (Abinger c.16 f12-13). He is also featured in two of Elizabeth Cooper's letters (Abinger c.2 f7-8 and c.4 f3) and one of Thomas Cooper's (Abinger c.2 f84-6).
