Sir John Crickloe (or Chrichloe) Turner admitted Lincolns Inn 1776 youngest son of Rev James T deceased of Huntingdon, married 2.1.1779 at All Saints Newcastle-upon-Tyne Ann Cramlington / sheriff of Hunts 1785, knoghted 1786 of Upper Stukeley / died 14.10.1813 Stoke Poges, Bucks age 68. Huntingdon connection fits Basil Montagu. He may have been the J.C.Turner Godwin wrote to in 1809

The Turton at Johnson's was wrongly transcribed as Tuston on GD website. It was very likely William Turton DNB 1762-1835 conchologist. In 1805 Joseph Johnson published an edition of Oliver Goldsmith's History of the Earth and Animated Nature indexed by Dr Turton, and in 1807 Lackington published Dr Turton's translation of Linnaeus. A tenuous connection in that a Gore was present as well as Tyson on 19.1.1800. Richard Tyson will PCC 1821 (exec Sir John Keane baronet of Royal Cres Bath) had been master of ceremonies at Tunbridge Wells, then at the Lower Rooms Bath till James King took over, then at the New Rooms Bath from 1785 in place of  Dawson. Only appeared once in Godwin's diary and didn't get to see Godwin then. Morning Post 14.8.1803 Cork and Upshaw, Americans prosecuted for a challenge to a duel to Mr Askew (the son of Sir Edward Askew) after he nudged Upshaw off a crowded bench in the lecture room of St Thomas' Hospital. Website upshawfamilyjournal.com is a good source for Upshaws in Virginia and nearby states. This looks likely to have been Dr William Upshaw born 1782 of Richmond Virginia who became surgeon to 5th Regiment of Infantry and was involved in duels in 1805 and 1810 and died 31.8.…

A Vadier was delegate from Ariege to the National Assembly of France in 1791, judged Louis XV! to death, was President in 1794, condemned to transportation 1796, his son Vadier defended him, was a prisoner in Cherbourg 24.7.1799, moved to Chartres 1800, was a general in the army 1803, died at Brussels 19.12.1828 aged 93. Martha Carteretta Valpy bapt 16.11.1779 St Mary's Suffolk dau of Richard & Martha Valpy, eldest dau of Richard Valpy DNB 1754-1836 and only child of his first marriage. She married 4.5.1804 in Hampshire, Thomas James Straker and went with him to Barbadoes. His will PCC 1814 late of Lisbonl proved by Henry Abbott attorney of Martha Cartaretta Straker who was in Barbadoes. Subscr to The Emigrant in London 1795 Rev Dr Valpy Reading, Miss Valpy Canonbury. She also subsribed to Mme Genlis' Annals of Virtue 1794
