Godwin took tea at Charlotte Smith DNB 1749-1806 at Tilford, Surrey then slept at Stump's so this was probably the name of an innkeeper or neighbour. John Moon Stump son of Thomas & Elizabeth was baptised at Peper Harow 23.9.1798 a couple of miles from Tilford. There was also a Thomas Stump & Mary in nearby Farnham and a Thomas Stump & Ann in nearby Godalming

Thomas Sturley married 9.11.1804 Mary Raven, who was baptised 4.10.1780 at Foulsham, dau. of Aldridge & Sarah Raven, so the sister of Philip Hull Godwin's wife. For some reason these sup entries are underlined in the GD website as if they were an unidentified person. They simply mean that Godwin wherever he was and whoever he was with carried on and had supper there

All the guests listed by Godwin were Irish (apart from the Italian Jew). Supple was an Irish name and only appeared this once in Godwin's diary. There were some of this name living in London.
